The Ivy League will release admission decisions tomorrow, the 27th, at 5 p.m.
Regular decision admission release remains one of the most important, and most visible, moments of the application cycle each year. How did we get to this point?
Our office received an unprecedented number of applications to be part of the University’s newest class. Undeterred by a snowy winter, our staff enthusiastically committed to creating the Class of 2018. Many eyes thoroughly and holistically reviewed each application. We appreciated every voice. We considered the ideas presented to us. We applauded leadership and initiative. We noted potential impact on campus. We had robust and comprehensive committee discussions. We are now getting ready to send admit packets and postcards to future Quakers.
Decision release is bittersweet. In an increasingly selective environment, we have to make difficult decisions. We are elated for those students who will be joining us on campus next year but we also recognize the depth of accomplishment across our applicant pool. We, like many seniors, will be grappling with the range of outcomes our talented applicants will receive tomorrow evening.
Seniors, before considering the outcomes of this process, congratulate yourself on a job well done. Allow yourself to see the growth you have achieved just by getting to the other side of the application cycle. And know that you will have many options.
Now, let the countdown begin.
